The creation of puroresu masks
Both a pro wrestler and a designer, Mister Cacao is leaving the ring aside for a few minutes to hold a masterclass and talk about his other passion, creating puroresu masks, an activity he’s been practicing for 25 years!
Mister Cacao will be presenting the different steps in creating puroresu masks used in professional competitions. From the design of the pattern, the making of the masks can take up to 12 hours.
To illustrate his speech, Mister Cacao will present the masks he will be wearing on the ring at Japan Expo. For 25 years, he has been creating masks and has even invented his own method in which every aspect is important: the design, the choice of materials and colors, and the structure.
He finds inspiration in the anime (Cyborg 009, Tiger Mask, Time Bokan, Mobile Suit Gundam, etc.) and tokusatsu (Ôgon Bat, Kamen no Ninja Akakage, Warrior of Love Rainbowman, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, etc.) he grew up with. He likes the appearance of this characters created by Japanese people.
During the festival, Mister Cacao’s creations will be exhibited at the Puroresu area, by the ring (Q732, hall 6): don’t forget to take a look at them! And of course, you’ll find Mister Cacao on the ring facing his adversaries.
