First appeared in the old city of Edo, fox dancing was part of New Year’s celebrations. For a few years, the Yoshiwara Kitsune Shachu troupe has been bringing it back to life and unveiling fox masks and bright kimono to the rhythm of flutes, taiko, and kettledrums, enchanting their audience.
