Animation has pride of honor with Kitarô KÔSAKA, Anime Guest of Honor, who has worked for many movies by Studio Ghibli, among which Hayao MIYAZAKI’s brand new The Wind Rises, Oscar nominee!
Kitarô KÔSAKA started animation right after leaving highschool. His talent was acknowledged by the greatest masters, among whom mangaka Naoki URASAWA for whom he worked as a chara-designer, producer, and animation director on the TV adaptations of Master Keaton, Yawara!, and Monster.
He was also chosen by Hayao MIYAZAKI to work on many of his films and has been in charge of the animation on Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, orHowl's Moving Castle.
In 2013, he is in charge of the animation for The Wind Rises, the latest and last film by Hayao MIYAZAKI, to be released tomorrow, January 22, in France, and which has just been announced as a nominee for the Oscar of Animated Feature Film!
Kitarô KÔSAKA, Anime Guest of Honor, is meeting you for the 15th Anniversary of Japan Expo, from July 2 to 6, for a conference.
