Aikido
Discover Aikido through demonstrations and initiations throughout Japan Expo by the Aïkido Club Villejuif.
A martial art known as the "art of peace", aikidô teaches you to neutralize your opponent's aggressiveness through techniques (katas), practiced bare-handed or with wooden weapons such as the bokken (wooden sword), jô (stick) or tantô (wooden knife).
Aikidô techniques are accessible to all ages and physical conditions. Aikidô is a mixed discipline. It is also accessible to people with disabilities.
At the Villejuif Aikido Club stand, initiations are offered. Initiations begin with a warm-up: stretching, movement and breathing. Then, with a partner, you put into practice simple techniques that enable you to neutralize your opponent in just a few movements, using wrist grabs, frontal attacks, punches, back grabs and so on.
An initiation lasts around 30 minutes and no registration is required. Come to the stand at the initiation times specified on site to take part. Initiations are supervised by teachers and their students. Demonstrations are also available!
