Biography
If you watched Naruto Shippuden, you might have already admired the work of Yukio TAKATSU. Japanese animator and director, he indeed directed an opening (OP) of the famous anime.
And it is for his wide range of skills that he is recognized since he has directed, storyboarded, animated and produced a large number of anime openings, which also earned him the title of animation director since 1999.
He started his career in animation by working on Gokudo in 1999, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Revenge the same year, Gatekeepers in 2000, Prince of Tennis the following year and Kaleido Star in 2003.
In 2006, after a break from TV animation, his career took a major turning point when he animated the opening of the video game Persona 3.
In 2012, he returned to TV animation and added a large number of openings to his filmography. He was in charge of the opening of Nisemonogatari in 2012 (OP2 - Marshmallow Justice and OP3 - Platinum Disco). Among his many works, we also find Monogatari (Second Season in 2013, OP4 - Kogarashi Sentiment), Tsukimonogatari in 2014 (OP - Orange Mint) and Owarimonogatari in 2015 (OP2 - Mathemagics).
He also directed and animated, alone, the 17th opening of Naruto Shippuden and, more recently, he worked on The Detective is Already Dead in 2021.
As you can see, Yukio TAKATSU is a talented animator and director, and will be at Japan Expo!
