Noriko TADANO
Noriko Tadano, the musician who plays the tsugaru shamisen, will be at Japan Expo 23rd Impact.
Born in the Chiba Prefecture, Noriko Tadano began learning the shamisen at six years old. She has performed in shows at many world music festivals, including WOMADelaide. She has also appeared in commercials, short films, and international theater productions.
To promote the folkloric style of Tsugaru Shamisen, she collaborates with other genres of instruments and music, such as rock, blues, and jazz. She was one of the finalists for the Australian TV program Australia's Got Talent alongside George Uekawa and performed twice at the Sydney Opera House. Since 2018, she has been challenging herself in theater plays by initiating and producing her own one-woman show project on women's issues.
Today she lives in Adelaide, Australia, and performs all around the world.
