profile
Maneki Kecak is an idol group consisting of five members, Miyuu NAKAGAWA, Chiai FUJIKAWA, Rin MIYAUCHI, Reona MATSUSHITA, and Mio FUKASE. They are known for their cute looks, their ability to sing live without using any lip-synching, and for getting full houses ever since their first concert. In 2016, they participated in the biggest idol festival in Japan and made it to the finals thanks to the audience's votes.
Their first single, Kimiwazurai, as well as their second, Time Machine, immeditately scored #1 on Oricon daily ranking. Kimiwazurai even won the Idol Musical Composition Award in 2016.
2017 was full of projects and success for Maneki Kecak. In March, the five members launched their first Japan tour (Manekare Japan) and gave eight concerts in seven different cities. A new single, titled Doudemo Iiya / Arikitari Na Kodobade – produced by the eminent music label Universal Music Group – was released in June, and seemed to have hooked the fans for it sold up to 74,000 copies!

The same year in fall, the five members walked down the runway at the Tokyo Girls Award fashion show, and also took part in the opening act of the TGC Hiroshima 2017 fashion show organized by Tokyo Girls Collection. Parallel to this, the famous British magazine Classic Rock nominated their group in its Top 10 best Japanese rock bands and artists.
In April 2018, Maneki Kecak produced an album as well as a new single, Kagamino Nakakara, which became the ending theme of the Gegege no Kitarou anime.
The five idols will give a concert in the well known auditorium of Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on September 24th, 2018 to celebrate the group's third anniversary. For comparison purposes, Nippon Budokan have welcomed many renowned artists over the years, such as the Beatles or Joe HISAICHI.
Future looks bright for Maneki Kecak. The five members are on the road again since last March for their second Japan Tour which will end in May. Few months later, they will be performing in front of Japan Expo's audience!
