KatanayaIchi
The KatanayaIchi swordsmen group is coming to Japan Expo to show you their talents!
Katanayaichi transports you to feudal Japan with its troupe of ninjas and samurai. Their demonstrations are mute, offering performances that transcend the language barrier to provide spectators with a unique experience.
Tate (the art of sword fighting) is a martial art form developed primarily for theater. Actors use katana and demonstrate sword fighting. The art is becoming increasingly popular worldwide, thanks to the expansion of samurai and Japanese sword culture through cinema and Japanese pop culture.
Katanaya Ichi takes up this traditional stage art with its troupe of 4 men and 2 women. With a growing reputation thanks to its mastery of tate, the troupe is increasingly performing around the world, with the aim of promoting this art form, as well as Japanese culture, in the hope of multiplying international exchanges with Japan.
