Starting his career in animation following his love for the anime Star Blazers, Eisaku Inoue made his first steps by working for subcontractors of Toei Animation. His work got noticed at Toei Animation, so much so that they made him an offer to work on Saint Seiya.

As an animation director, his work has contributed significantly to establishing the visual identity of the series while respecting Shingo Araki's designs.

Eisaku Inoue leaves Toei Animation, not without first contributing to the Dragon Ball series, but soon comes back to work with the company as a freelancer. First on Dr. Slump (1997), then on the One Piece series. Mr. Inoue starts working on the TV series as an animation director from its second episode and is, to this day, one of its most important staff members.

Whether it's as a key animator, animation director, or even storyboarder of several episodes, Eisaku Inoue is one of the artists who shaped the adaptation of the flagship manga of Shônen Jump into anime. He was also in charge of the character design for three One Piece moviesOne Piece Movie 2: Clockwork Island AdventureOne Piece Movie 7: Mega Mecha Soldier Of Karakuri Castle, and One Piece Movie: The Desert Princess and the Pirates: Adventures in Alabasta, on which he was able to offer his own take on the work of Eiichirô Oda.

Mr. Inoue's experience working on action anime led him to hold the position of chief animation director on other such series by Toei Animation, for example, on the adaptation of Daisuke Ashihara's manga World Trigger.

Come share your passion for shônen anime with Eisaku Inoue during his conferences and signing sessions at Japan Expo!
