Shonen
Come meet Shonen, a major figure of French manga in the recent years with Outlaw Players, at Ki-oon’s booth!
Biography
Shonen did not follow any art course and is a self-taught artist. He graduated in Mechanical and Computer Engineering, which didn’t predestine him to become a mangaka. Yet, at 22, he felt the need to improve his drawing skills.
At first, he specialized in design but little by little, turned to manga. He uses varied tools, crayons and quilts for sketching, and a computer for colors. The range of his influences is wide but include a lot of Japanese artists. He admires Craig MULLINS, Barontieri, Auguy, or Ashley WOOD, but also many mangaka like Ito ÔGURE or Kentaro MIURA.
Outlaw Players is his latest manga which was rewarded with 2017’s Best International Manga Daruma from the Japan Expo Awards!
