KAMUI Samurai Artist
KAMUI combines the beauty of form, play and martial arts to establish an original style of samurai fighting. Their goal is to promote the culture and art of Japanese samurai around the world.
KAMUI is a troupe of "Samurai Artists".
The leader, Tetsuro Shimaguchi, joined Quentin Tarantino's "KILL BILL Vol.1" as an actor, fight scene choreographer and actor trainer.
In 2018, he was the first Japanese to receive the Consonanze award in Florence, Italy. He was also appointed as a tourism ambassador for Aizu-wakamatsu City and Fukushima Prefecture in 2019.
KAMUI has visited more than 35 countries and about 150 cities for performances, with the aim of promoting "Samurai" as Japanese culture and art around the world. For example, in March 2022, KAMUI performed at the NBA halftime show in Washington D.C., USA, and received a big ovation.
