Introduction
Born in June 1981, Motonari ONO graduated from the Mejiro Fashion and Art College in 2002, and the London College of Fashion Foundation in 2003, before entering the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Anvers where he met Bora Aksu, a designer from London. After acquiring enough experience by his side, he launched monotari ono.
In 2010, he was selected as a finalist for the MANGO Fashion Awards, one of the biggest fashion contests in the world, organized by the Spanish brand. He took part in several fashion events such as the Tokyo and the New York Fashion Week, where he presented his collections. In 2013 and 2014, he was selected as a designer to represent Japan at the INTERNATIONAL WOOLMARK PRIZE, a worldwide contest.
