presentation
Makiko OGURA runs the Pecora Workshop where she crafts woolen felt original figurines representing adorable animals, using wasai couture codes. She mostly creates endearing pandas which are both realistic and amusing, but also makes many other works like accessories or other animals. Her creations are very appreciated for their cuteness as well as for their high quality.
This year, she will come to the festival to make you discover her work at the WABI SABI area alongside many craftsmen eager to make you discover the wealth of Japanese folklore!

A word on wasai art
Wasai is a type of couture which was taught to young women in olden times to refine their education. Many craftsmen still get inspired by this technique to the point where they restyle it to produce various creations such as accessories or figurines.
