Katori Shinto Ryu initiations
Let's try kobudo with the representatives of one of the oldest Japanese martial schools: Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu, and discover a martial art that finds its roots in the land of the rising sun traditions.
Katori Shinto Ryu
Kobudo – or ancient martial art – refers to weapon training in traditional Japanese schools. On its side, the Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu weapon school that teaches this discipline was created in the 15th century in Japan, and focuses in weapons handling – sabre, long staff and naginata, a curve blade sword. As an ancient Japanese weapon school, it has been consecrated as an important intangible heritage by the Japanese Ministry of Culture.
Kobudo awakes and sharpens the defence responses with weapons or bare-handed. This discipline, Master Alain FLOQUET improved it through his trainings in this historical school, and thanks to his Master Yushio SUGINO valuable tips.
