Memories: Culture and traditions!

Tetsuro Shimaguchi brought bushido up to date in his performances with the Samurai Artists Kamui troupe! Their fights went on all 4 days of Japan Expo, and the warriors showed grace and elegance in their handling of the katana!

But their blades weren't the only ones to clash, as the Katanaya Ichi group took to the festival stages for some epic battles! Hyakki-Yako opened a window onto the world of spirits and fantastic creatures with their depictions of Japanese folk stories!

Katsura Sunshine made us laugh with his rakugo act, and Siméon Molard introduced us to the world of sake! Seiichi Itô was also on hand to introduce you to Osaka's specialties!

The Ichigo stage was colorful with KimonoxDance Project outfits and dancing! The Ioriya troupe was waiting to set the stage on fire and show you the frenzy of yosakoi! Senju Shishi-lion- demonstrated Kabuki Shishimono, or lion dance, on the Sakura stage!

On the occasion of the Child of Kamiari Month conference, artist Okazu demonstrated his talent by painting a sublime dragon in black ink, also known as sumi. Koyuki presented us with a delicious painting using colored sugar, accompanied by musician X+ for a relaxing experience!

The Wabi-Sabi area was a veritable concentration of Japanese culture, allowing you to meet Japanese craftsmen and admire their work in all its forms. And what better way to represent Japan than with the country's most popular mascot: Kumamon! 

The Ganbalo booth featured works by artist Shinichiro Natsusaka. It was also an opportunity to meet craftspeople from Japan! Yuai introduced you to traditional Japanese activities, while Vu du Japon let you discover the land of the rising sun through its videos and its panoply of videographers!

Asian'Efrei introduced you to the game of Karuta, a true symbol of Japanese culture. Origami and quizzes were the order of the day at the Tengumi stand for a convivial moment! The Duvet Calligraphie stand revealed the richness of the Japanese language through calligraphy.

A whole range of booths were available to discover classic games such as karuta, go, mahjong, othello and shogi!
