Memories: Cosplay at Japan Expo Paris 2024!
Japan Expo is the meeting place for all pop culture enthusiasts, making it the ideal place for beginners, amateurs and professional cosplayers to get together and share their passions!
Cosplayers flooded into the festival to dazzle us with their fabulous costumes! It was an opportunity to benefit from the experience of professional cosplayers such as Alyson Tabbitha, Yaya Han, Aya Kaida, Shirogane-sama, Cynderys, Sai Westwood, Be More Shonen and Shema!
The cosplay village gave you the chance to meet new talent within the community in the Rising Cosplay Talent area:
Famous old faces from the ECG and cosplay community were on hand for the alumni show, and to share their expertise with you! You could see :
The Art Body Club stand offered demonstrations of bodypainting, and sublimated your cosplays with their brushes! At the Celicel21 stand, ephemeral tattoos and fantasy make-up gave you the chance to get a festival makeover!
And to immortalize your new look, the CSE Dassault Photo Section and Manticore Pictures booths offered you the chance to have your portrait taken with professional equipment!
There's only one step between reality and fiction, especially if it lands you in the Meet & Magic or Les Dix Lunes booths! Enchanting characters from the worlds of Disney, as well as Harry Potter and One Piece photobooths plunged you into your favorite worlds!
To keep the magic going, Disney's Lorcana TCG characters in the flesh took to the Kitsuné stage for a special event!
Lovecraft Asso exhibited costumes of well-known pop culture characters, and AMF Cosplay gave beginners and enthusiasts the chance to take their passion a step further by meeting designers from all over the world! Cosa promoted Japanese and American culture through their passion for cosplay, and Kaokig introduced you to Animegao Kigurumi, the art of wearing a mask with features reminiscent of manga characters.
Japan Expo's masterclass are always on hand to introduce you to experienced cosplayers who share their latest techniques and best advice!
But the biggest cosplay event at Japan Expo is of course the ECG!
The ECG alumni took to the stage again for a show that brought together your favorite candidates from past editions of ECG!
Afterwards, this year's candidates thrilled us with their crazy performances during the show to decide this season's winner! 18 candidates representing their countries took to the Ichigo stage for a 1h30 show in which their hard work and determination left the jury, made up of Yaya Han, Shema, Cinderys, Be More Shonen and Sai Westwood, speechless!
3rd place went to the Australian team made up of Vyecos and Vamprea, for their cosplay of the characters Diluc and Arlecchino from Genshin Impact !
Second place went to the USA team, made up of Kayecosplay and mattsme1908 in their Phantom of the Opera outfits!
And at the top of the podium was the team from the Czech Republic, made up of Kate Tyler Cosplay and Tery Cosplay with costumes for the characters Jedediah and Octave from the film Night at the Museum!
