Memories: Cinema at Japan Expo Paris 2024!
For this year's edition, under the sign of Godzilla, the 7th art occupied a special place at Japan Expo! With a prestigious guest list, behind-the-scenes conferences and a monstrous exhibition, we didn't know where to turn!
Japan Expo was the perfect opportunity to give yourself a scare by attending a conference by Inô Rie and Takuya Wada on Ring! The incarnation of the vengeful specter Sadako and the make-up artistic director of Ring, Spiral and Ring 2 were waiting for you to explore the behind-the-scenes aspects of the film and for signing sessions!
The festival was honored to welcome Shinji Higuchi, head of special effects and director emeritus, who has worked on several Kaijû films, including the famous Shin Godzilla! And to honor the Tokyo monster, who better than the painter of Kaijû himself, Yuji Kaida, to shed light on this cinematic icon?
You had the chance to attend a conference by the director to mark the 70th anniversary of Godzilla, followed by a screening of the film Shin Godzilla! Shinji Higuchi was also available for signing sessions at the Sumiré area!
Yuji Kaida awaited you for a conference, a live drawing where he demonstrated his talent in all its splendor with a magnificent painting of Godzilla, and signing sessions!
The Godzilla, 70 years of the king of the monsters exhibition, organized in collaboration with Toho, allowed you to discover the Kaijû as never before, through a 300m² exhibition presenting a history of the creature, its creators, its evolution, and its many posters and merchandising products! All the more reason to measure its impact on modern cinema and, more broadly, pop culture.
To round off your visit, Godzilla was waiting around the corner to give you a scare - but above all for a memorable face-to-face photo with this legendary monster!
