The Uzumaki adaptation is coming!
If we had to choose a favorite work by Junji Itô, the task would be complex, given the quality and quantity of the author's stories. If we had to choose the best-known, however, Uzumaki would be a no-brainer, as it left such a lasting impression on readers and represented a turning point in the author's career.

26 years after the release of one of the greatest works of horrific manga, Adult Swim offers its adaptation of Uzumaki in anime, available on September 28 on Toonami in America.
Junji Itô's drawings come to life under the direction of Hiroshi Nagahama, a veteran of the strange and fantastic who worked on Mushishi and Aku no Hana, and thanks to the script by Aki Itami, who wrote Mushishi and, more recently, Karakai Jouzu no Takahi-san. As fans of the author, and of Uzumaki in particular, it's with great finesse that they carry out their work on the adaptation of this morbid story.
The anime, made with a mix of classic animation and computer-generated images, is very faithful to the original work, with the few differences introduced by Hiroshi Nagahama allowing long-time fans to relive the story in a new way. Its release is an opportunity to discover or rediscover this paragon of horror, which fascinates and amazes as much as it disturbs and frightens.
Stay tuned to immerse yourself in the madness of the inhabitants of Kurouzu!
