Favorite: Dive into fantasy!

Metaphor: ReFantazio is the latest title from Atlus, known for its Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series. With this new license, the developer invites us to explore an entirely new fantasy universe.

We play the role of an Elda, a humanoid race that is similar in every way to a human, but lacks any of the fantastic characteristics of the other species found in this world. They are therefore considered inferior, and even hated by other races!

Our story begins with the assassination of the king. His murderer seizes the crown with the sole aim of plunging the kingdom into chaos. Our hero's goal: to foil this conspiracy, save the kingdom from chaos and establish the rightful heir to the throne!

We're back to the classic formula that made the Persona series such a success, with gameplay divided between dungeon exploration and slice-of-life action between you and your teammates. It's an opportunity to get to know your comrades-in-arms better, and to create or maintain bonds within your team! In terms of combat, it's a clever mix of real-time and traditional turn-based.

The familiarity of the game is quickly explained when we look at the people behind this new title: the director is Katsura Hashino, who has already proven himself on the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series as director, and chara-designer Shigenori Soejima, who has brought many of Atlus' game characters to life. Composers include Shoji Meguro, Atlus' star musician, who composed Aria of the Soul, one of the series' main themes. For this new opus, they are stepping out of their comfort zone to offer players a whole new experience!

In view of the game's great success, a manga is already in preparation, signed by Yôichi Amano, author of Akaboshi and illustrator of Mist Gears Blast!
