Discover Japan in Colmar
From November 12 to 17, the city of Colmar transforms itself and offers a myriad of activities for Japan Week! Discover Japanese culture and art to mark the 160th anniversary of Alsace-Japan relations!
The city of Colmar will have the honor of hosting Japan Week from November 12 to 17, 2024.
During this event dedicated to the promotion of Japanese culture, you can explore its many facets through a rich program of shows and workshops, mixing traditional arts and popular culture.
Colmar's former customs house, Koïfhus, is transformed into a space dedicated to Japanese art and culture, where you can discover and learn about calligraphy, the tea ceremony and much more!
Le Cercle Saint-Martin will be hosting shows throughout Japan Week. Enjoy concerts and shows by artists such as Mika Kobayashi and SAMURAI ARTISTS KAMUI!
Les Catherinettes, meanwhile, will open its doors for the opening ceremony, and offer a variety of activities and exhibitions, including Shogi initiations and architectural culture exchanges!
Free and open to all, subject to availability, this event promises a unique experience in Alsace. Activities are not bookable, but we recommend arriving early, as priority is given on a first-come, first-served basis.
On the strength of its privileged relations with Japan, the City of Colmar is proud to organize this new edition and hopes to see many of you there for this moment of sharing and exchange between Colmarians and Japanese.
