Aubusson's wonderful tapestries in the colors of Ghibli!

The Cité internationale de la tapisserie renews the tradition of great narrative hangings by weaving the universes of Tolkien and Hayao Miyazaki into tapestry!

Posted on

La Cité internationale de la tapisserie is both a museum dedicated to the study and promotion of Aubusson tapestry, and a training center for a 6-century-old trade.

Since its creation, the Cité has developed an ambitious policy of contemporary creation. In 2019, the Cité has signed a partnership agreement with Studio Ghibli to create a tapestry based on images taken from the films of director Hayao Miyazaki. The production of these monumental tapestries continues today with an exceptional fifth tapestry dedicated to Studio Ghibli's most emblematic film: My Neighbor Totoro.

A professional weaver will be on hand to demonstrate her skills.
