Concert of Japanese Drum and Shamisen
On the occasion of the the 160th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and Japan, and in partnership with The Japan Foundation, as part of Japonismes 2018, Japan Expo is welcoming the show Concerts of Japanese Drum and Shamisen. Japanese traditional music opens on new horizons with Kenji FURUTATE and Keisho OHNO!
Kenji FURUTATE and Keisho OHNO are inviting you to enjoy a progressive music concert highlighting Japanese traditional instruments, wadaiko and shamisen.
Both artistes blend the authenticity of their instruments with their research for innovation. Produced by Jiro HATANO, Concerts of Japanese Drum and Shamisen is a fusion of ma, the cadence interval in Japanese traditional music, and Western rhythms based on electronic music.
Japanese music never stop reinventing itself and it’s true for traditional styles as well: Kenji FURUTATE and Keisho OHNO are showing so and proving clichés wrong on stage at Japan Expo!
