A maiko and a geiko are inviting you to discover their arts with a show on the Sakura stage.
Made famous by Arthur GOLDEN's novel (Memoirs of a Geisha), which was turned into a movie, the word maiko refers to a geisha's apprentice. They mainly entertain clients singing, dancing or playing shamisen. As for the word geiko, it refers to experimented geisha. They share with the tourists their own vision of Kyoto by taking them to the city's mythical places, as well as showing them the latest trends.
