biography
Born in 1965, YOSHIKI is an accomplished musician! He is a writer, composer, musician and music producer, and has been playing several instruments from an early age: piano, drums, guitar.
In 1982, he co-founded the visual kei band X JAPAN, in which he’s also been the leader. Currently including ToshI, Pata, Sugizo, Heath and, of course, YOSHIKI, the band was a success from their debut. Today, X JAPAN has sold more than 30 million singles and albums.
Apart from his activities in the band, YOSHIKI has composed the Golden Globes Awards 2012 theme as well as a concerto for the 10th anniversary of the Japanese Emperor’s reign. The artist has also created his own fashion, jewelry, and wine collections.
Considered as one of the most influential artist in Asia, the J-rock icon has surprised his audience with a new album in 2013. He has come back solo and in a different style. Indeed, YOSHIKI has released a collection of classical titles called YOSHIKI CLASSICAL. For his solo come back, he has collaborated with the Beatles’ producer, Sir Georges Martin, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, and Quartet San Francisco.
