Noriko TADANO
Noriko Tadano, the musician who plays the tsugaru shamisen, will be at Japan Expo 23rd Impact.
Born in Chiba prefecture, Noriko Tadano is a precocious musician, having begun learning the shamisen at the age of 6.
Since then, her faithful instrument has never left her side, and she takes it to dynamic shows and festivals all over the world, as far afield as WOMADelaide. She has appeared in commercials, short films and international theater productions.
To promote the Tsugaru shamisen folk style, she collaborates with other musical genres, experimenting with rock, blues and jazz rhythms. She was one of the finalists in Australia's Got Talent program with George Uekawa. She has performed twice in Sydney's Opera House. Since 2018, she has been trying her hand at theater, initiating and producing her own solo theater project on women's issues.
As of today, she is an Australian citizen in the city of Adelaide and performs all over the world.
