Kazuhide TOMONAGA
Japan Expo is glad to welcome Kazuhide TOMONAGA to celebrate not one, but two anniversaries: the 100th of Japanese animation for which he will be joining Animé 100, and the 50th of the series Lupin the Third which he contributed to a lot!
Biography
Kazuhide TOMONAGA was born in 1952. He started off his career working for Toei Animation from 1970.
After Toei Animation, he worked for OH! production and started to work on the genga for Lupin the Third second series, and the car chase scene in the movie The Castle of Cagliostro.
In the 1980s, he joined Telecom Animation Film and worked on the Lupin the Third products for a long time. For the new Lupin the Third TV series which started in 2015, he was the Executive Director.
Kazuhide TOMONAGA is a major character of the cult saga Lupin the Third. He will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of Japanese animation at Japan Expo, along with the 50th of the series.
He will be part of an event mixing a panel and screening on Thursday on the Yuzu stage, with several characters related to the series, among whom Shuhei KATO, producer and CEO of M.P. Works. On Friday, he will be meeting you on the Animé 100 stage for an outstanding live drawing, also with a screening.
