Kachou HASHIMOTO
In partnership with publisher Glénat Manga, Japan Expo has the pleasure to welcome Kachou HASHIMOTO, in worldwide exclusivity for the release of his manga called Cagaster!
biography
During secondary school, Kachou HASHIMOTO reads for the first time Ushio to tora and becomes fascinated about it: that is when she considers to become amangaka. After being for some time Daisuke HIGUCHI’s assistant (the author of Whistle!), she starts her career as a professional author in 2000. Since then, she has carried out many projects on behalf of several major publishers. To put her creative skills to the test, she accepts to work on everything from educational biography to pachinko (arcade game and gambling machine), while keeping shônen manga as her priority.
Kachou HASHIMOTO is a pseudonym. At first, she would publish her manga on the internet under the nickname « Chicken HASHIMOTO », but this name wasn’t always suitable, particularly for educational manga. She then decides to adopt the name she has now: Kachou HASHIMOTO. The Japanese characters that build the word Kachou mean both“flower” and “bird”, two elements that she particularly appreciates.
Kachou HASHIMOTO comes at Japan Expo to present her manga series Cagaster! First released as a webmanga, it is now finally being published with a hardcover, for the very first time in France! With a total of six volumes, this manga series is published in France as a worldwide exclusivity, and you can get yourself the first volume at Japan Expo since its release date is set for July 2. The author of Cagaster will also be there for signing sessions. As for the manga’s second volume, you won’t have to wait much longer: it will be published on September 3, 2014!
