MONOEYES
Within two years, MONOEYES have imposed their names on the Japanese pop-punk scene with talented and experiences musicians. Committed to supporting Tohoku, the band is promoting the cause in Europe and is taking this opportunity to share their energy and catchy songs with you!
Profile
MONOEYES was created in May 2015 with Takeshi HOSOMI, the inspirational singer of the bands the HIATUS and ELLEGARDEN, with the guitarist Masafumi TODAKA from ART-SCHOOL, the drummer Masakazu ICHISE from ASPARAGUS, and the American bassist Scott MURPHY, leader of Allister and Scott & Rivers (a project with Rivers CUOMO, Weezer’s singer). Two months later, a single, My Instant Song, and their first album, A Mirage In The Sun, were released, and then they set off on a tour across Japan.
On stage, the band plays a timeless mix of punk energy and catchy pop tunes. MONOEYES is now considered as one of the most influent bands on the Japanese pop-punk scene, which made them feature in all the biggest Japanese music festival in 2016.

In October 2016, the band released a second EP, Get Up, and started another tour with 22 gigs across Japan ending in Okinawa. They played a few times in Tohoku, as part of a support project, Tohoku Livehouse Daisakusen, which aims at rebuilding concert halls in the areas hit by March 2011’s tsunami. The band (and especially Takeshi HOSOMI who created the duo The Low-Atus with Toshi-Low from Brahman) is committed to the anti-nuclear cause and to this solidarity operation. In this support framework, MONOEYES are performing for the first time in Europe.
And they'll be visiting you at Japan Expo! Don’t miss their showcase and signing on Friday!
