Focus on music at Japan Expo 2022!
Music took a great place during the festival. From Thursday to Sunday, concerts took place on the different stages of Japan Expo. From J-Pop to traditional music and anime themes, relive the highlights of music at Japan Expo 2022!
j-pop
There were many J-Pop guests from Japan, among them, you could attend the showcase of our guest of honor, blank paper on Ichigo! The singer of the theme of Child of Kamiari Month, miwa, went on stage for the screening. Mika KOBAYASHI, singer of anime themes such as Attack on Titan or Kill la Kill, performed during different unforgettable showcases. The duo FEMM, composed of the two models RiRi and LuLa, provided an unmissable J-Pop/Rap showcase that took place on Saturday, July 16. The endearing quartet UNIONE seduced you with their different concerts, it was the first time they came to France! The pop-priestesses of the girlsband Kannagi Rabbits had such a huge success that they became N°1 of the Apple Music downloads in France in the J-Pop album category! Singing Cosplayer Hikari and Yohei ONISHI respectively offered their showcases, then joined on stage for the Anime Song Party with Enzo RATSITO! Serikana carried you away in her J-Pop universe with folk accents and E.L. Squad offered you dance performances in the dark with their luminous costumes to make you discover their new show in preview, LIGHTS in the DARK!
Traditional artists
The traditional music was a must of the festival and many artists made the trip. Among them, Yuzu NATSUMI and his shamisen who transported you in the beauty and the refinement of the Japanese culture. In the same spirit, Paris Sanshin Club, although being a French association, made you travel to Okinawa through traditional dance and music. Kagura Musou put its traditional instruments at the service of heavy metal, the duo Kuni-Ken shared with you Shamisen Rock performances and Akara took you into the world of rock with their traditional instruments! You could also attend the showcases of Waccha who merges music, dance and sword. Finally, with Emi HARIYAMA & Yu MASHIKO, dance and violin were combined for a number inspired by the purest Japanese tradition.
French Artists
The French singers were also present. Their universes are strongly inspired by the Japanese pop-culture and their coming on the festival allowed you to (re)discover them! With his melancholic and poetic universe, the singer-songwriter Nuit Incolore bewitched you during his performances on stage. The electric emotions of Kyoshi Sad gave rise to new showcases that won you over. Lean Chihiro, a melancholic humanoid, took you into her world where the colors of our childhood dreams rub shoulders with the clouds of the adult world. Then, it is on the occasion of the release of his new album, an original and conceptual rap project around the manga universe, that D.ACE met the success with you! As for the groups, Starrysky presented its new album TIMESHIFT "the reversed ablbum", 2nd musical record on Ulule! Singers from the web, gathered on stage under the name of No Time No Tune (NTNT), made you discover or rediscover the pop culture through covers of your favorite anime and video game musics. Finally, Epic Pixel Battle brought your favorite pop-culture characters to life in crazy rap battles!
