Yoichi-kun was created after the samurai Nasu no Yoichi who, during the Yashima sea battle of the Genpei war, managed to reach the center of a fan with only one arrow. After this miraculous shot, a rumor started to spread according to which shaking his hand would grant wishes.
As the mascot of Otawara, Tochigi prefecture, Yoichi-kun shows his city on his blog and his Facebook page. Though he is mostly known for his archery performances, he is also a great dancer.
Yoichi-kun can’t wait to come to Japan Expo to show you his feats and dance with you on the Azuki stage!
