Fédération Française de Mah-Jong

Discover mahjong, an Asian board game which subtly combines luck and talent for exciting games! This strategy game is somewhat similar to rummy but also poker. Though originally from China, it is nowadays very popular in Japan where millions of people play this game.

Mahjong is composed of 144 pieces called “tiles”. On some of them, numbers (represented by Chinese characters or bamboos) are written, but you can also see symbols from Asian culture, such as the three dragons and the four winds.

During the festival, the Mahjong French Federation will teach you the basics and, if you get hooked on the game, maybe the advanced rules. A small contest will be held on Sunday night, thus giving you the possibility to challenge the best players and to end the festival on a high note!
