Kyûdô
Precision, strength and harmony: so are the qualities necessary for any kyûdô archer. Don’t panic if you don’t have them! The Ligue Île-de-France de Kyudo Traditionnel is waiting for you at Japan Expo to introduce you to this ancestral art.
Presentation
Kyûdô, or the art of archery, is the practice of Japanese traditional archery. It is a martial art which finds its roots in the fighting techniques of samurai, but also in traditional rituals from the same era where the bow held great importance.
These two ways of life were combined to create the bases of modern kyûdô which unify the control of very precise techniques and a thorough work over the self. The kyûdô practitioner must master his posture as his mental and emotional attitude.
Program
If you don’t know about kyûdô, demonstrations are presented on the Budô area. The Ligue Île-de-France de Kyudo Traditionnel also shows you an exhibit of the materials needed to perform this art. Anf if you want to try kyûdô for yourself, initiations are available!
