How to make an anime Episode 01: STUDIO4°C
Japan Expo invites you to discover what goes on behind the realization of an anime through an exhibit, set up thanks to the participation of STUDIO4°C.
THE EXHIBIT
In partnership with STUDIO4°C, Japan Expo is immersing you into an animation studio and unveils all the stages of the creation of an anime through the exhibit How to make an anime Episode 01: STUDIO4°C. Discover the other side of the production of Harmony, one of the three feature films produced by STUDIO4°C.
This unique exhibit will show the production step by step, from preproduction (the project launch, the screenplay, the elaboration of various elements) to the finishing touches (CGI, configuration settings, pictures, editing), and all the essential steps to achieve the project (story-board, layout, key-installations, interval, sceneries).
The exhibit includes a lot of illustrations, sketches, and original drawings from the movie Harmony. Both Harmony fans and Japanese animation fans.
Discover the passionate work of STUDIO4°C’s team who opened to us about the process of the realization of an anime, a huge task that requires so much time and hard work.
Japan Expo is also welcoming the chara-designer of the movie Harmony, redjuice, as a guest: click here to know more about him!
STUDIO4°C
The name of this studio comes from the temperature at which water is the densest, symbolizing their creativity. Indeed, since the setting up of that company in 1986, numerous feature films, music videos, and shorts were produced. The reputation of the studio is growing up all around the world thanks to avant-garde films that used digital technology before it got popular.
In 30 years, they worked on numerous projects. Feature films like MEMORIES (1995), Spriggan (1998), or Princesse Arete (2000) are part of the success of the studio. Then, in 2003, through a joint production with Warner Bros., STUDIO4°C worked on The Animatrix. In 2004, Mind Game by Masaaki YUASA won the Grand Prize at Japan Media Arts Festival, the Ôfuji Noburô Award and six awards at Fantasia in Canada. In 2006, Tekkonkinkreet won Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year and was selected among 11 feature films for the Oscar in Animated Feature Film category of Academy Award in the USA.
Nowadays, STUDIO4°C continues to produce anthology movies all around the world!
