In April 2017, the number of points of sale (animate Café, points of sale abroad, franchises, etc.) reached up to 129. In Japan, apart from the main store in Ikebukuro, let’s mention the stores in Akihabara, Shinjuku, and Osaka Nihonbashi. Outside Japan, animate is also in Bangkok, Taiwan, and Shanghai.

Monchhichi
Few people know about this but Monchhichi was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1974. Created by SEKIGUCHI San to teach love and respect to children, Monchhichi gets his name from the combination of the French "mon petit", the English pronunciation of "monkey," and the Japanese onomatopoeia of the sound "chu-chu" that babies make when sucking at their dummy.
The character got successful at once in Japan and soon spread to Europe, especially German-speaking countries and France, and then to the US. In the 80s, the stuffed doll became a world icon. To this day, Monchhichi has sold over 70 million de pieces since it was invented, and keeps on making everyone happy. It has also become a phenomenon in Asia, especially Hong-Kong and China, where it was only recently introduced and already has many derived products.
Both a classic for the little ones and an item to collect for fans, the little fur monkey that you can dress however you like is a unique product, cult and beyond generations!

Also, you can get the latest information about the new amusement park that is to open next July inside Awajishima Park (Hyogo prefecture). This new park is proposing experiences in a natural setting about the theme of animation.
The booth also includes a miso soup bar where you can enjoy free authentic miso shiru! Finally events will be organized with models who work for Japanese magazines.

pixiv, a network for illustrators, will be at Japan Expo for the first time! Created in 2007 in Japan, pixiv now has 2.5 million members, all manga and illustration fans. It has become the most important service in this field in the world. pixiv is planning to exhibit the works of popular artists on the network, as well as original items. Visit them on the booth! Nijicon (Niji no Conquistador) idols have also planned to visit it!
