Memories: Video games at Japan Expo Paris 2024!
Japan Expo rhymes with video games! Once again this year, the video game section of the festival was packed with titles to try out or rediscover!
As this year's video game guest of honor, Daisuke Ishiwatari, was unable to make the trip due to a COVID-19 infection, Guilty Gear -Strive- producer Ken Miyauchi took his place at the signing sessions! During the events, you could still catch up with the mastermind behind the Guilty Gear fighting game saga in a videoconference!
Julien Merceron, a specialist in game engines and rendering techniques who worked on Tekken 8, and Wan Hazmer, the creator of Metronomik known for his title No Straight Roads, were on hand to discuss various aspects of video games at conferences and signing sessions!
Naoki Yoshida, the man behind the redesign of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, was on hand at the Také stage to talk about FINAL FANTASY and sign autographs!
The president of development studio CyberConnect2, Hiroshi Matsuyama, was on hand to give talks on video games and working abroad! The festival was also an opportunity to take part in one of his signing sessions!
The Switch Sport competition final was in full swing on the Také stage with members of the Silver Geek association!
But this wasn't the only competition to take place on the Také stage! MO5 organized a 10-player grand final on the Bomberman Saturn game, which saw the show's best players go head-to-head in an explosive game!
Challengers were on hand at the Kaoi Gaming and Arena Gaming booths to compete against the crème de la crème in tournaments, take advantage of guests and walk away with prizes!
Gaming Event, Retro du Coeur and JVM Events offered a wide range of video games for a fun-filled time with friends!
At the Emi Sphère booth, you could learn more about building a PC, discover the glassblower's craft and play racing games! At the DDR Belgium stand, you'd be swept away by the melodies of its many musical games, including Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution and Taiko no Tatsujin! Infiniverse immersed you in virtual reality with the VR game Acidpunk: Echoes of Doll City!
Feel like racing around the racetracks of the Mushroom Kingdom? Or perhaps Princess Peach to the rescue of her moustachioed hero? As usual, the Nintendo stand featured a myriad of different games, including the latest releases Princess Peach: Showtime and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD!
This year, Ubisoft offered activities linked to the next opus in the Assassin's Creed saga: Assassin's Creed : Shadows! At the booth, you could dive into the game's universe and lend a hand to Naoe and Yasuke with your shinobi training!
Cygames was on hand to present the latest games in the Grandblue Fantasy and Grandblue Fantasy Versus saga!
For the biggest fans of FINAL FANTASY and TOUHOU games, the FF Museum stand displayed an impressive collection of merchandise from the Square Enix universe, and Touhou Project introduced you to the rich world of this bullet hell saga.
